At Journeying Women our mission is to

resource and enable women to bring more joy and contentment into their lives, also known as Wellbeing.

Humans need to recharge and reset their mind, body and soul regularly to adapt to ever changing circumstances so that life can be enjoyed rather than endured. The Journeying Women are on a mission to enable that.

We often hear women say “I just need a day or even a few hours just for me”.

We get it. Life is busy serving others, often leaving little time for ourselves.

Our retreats and workshops are designed to take time out, slow down and:

  • Value what’s working in life

  • Re-assess priorities

  • Reconnect with what matters

  • Rediscover what truly matters to you; reassemble the parts that may have been put to the side temporarily

  • Rejuvenate by slowing down briefly

The World Health Organisation refers to mental health as ‘a state of well-being in which every individual realises their own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community’

Women often juggle many different roles in their life, often prioritising the needs of others which frequently leads to women neglecting their own needs and wellbeing. As women journeying through life, we inevitably face multiple challenging life experiences which place demands on our coping capacity.

When women are resourced and have knowledge on how to self-care and self-nurture their own emotional and psychological domains, it enables us to better support others. When women take care of their own inner needs, the ripple effects will spread to their families, colleagues and wider communities who will all benefit from the work.

History has shown that women benefit from being part of a community that supports each other in order to thrive, knowing that others have the same experience and that they are not alone. Our retreats and workshops are held in a nurturing, safe, inclusive and non-judgemental environment where women are invited to ‘come as they are’.

Our workshops are suited to all women - no prior experience necessary - mothers, entrepreneurs, CEO's, tradeswomen, uni students. We provide a welcoming, nurturing and safe environment where everyone is welcome

Women’s Wellbeing Retreats and Workshops are offered in various locations

(70 minutes south of Sydney), Eastern Suburbs Sydney and other locations.

Who Facilitates the Retreats?

  • Sheena Polese holds a Masters of Science, Psychology of Coaching, from the University of Sydney, an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School Management and is trained in adult development, mindfulness and wellbeing. Sheena is a coach, facilitator and leadership development consultant. An accredited facilitator in many psychometric tools, she engages in regular professional supervision to continue to develop her capacity as a Leadership and Personal Development Coach so she can best serve her clients. Also a mum to 3 young adults, a lover of nature, occasional yogi and keen hiker.

  • Susanne North is a certified Family Coach/Educator and an accredited Positive Psychology, Mindfulness, Meditation and Wellbeing practitioner. Susanne is dedicated to women’s wellbeing supporting women who are going through major life transitions. She brings a wealth of experience in the realm of family wellbeing through her work with families in school settings and wider communities. Susanne is also a mother to three young adults. Proud of her European heritage and lover of her home country Germany, she is also a keen baker, bike rider, bookworm and finds respite in the ocean waters.
